Perfect for families

Indoor and Outdoor Living in Perfect Harmony

The house is designed to let the beautiful nature outside flow seamlessly into the comfort of the indoors. From the living area, two large French doors open directly onto the covered veranda and the connecting terrace.

  • Natural Shade: The large, mature garden is characterized by impressive, old walnut trees. Comfortable hammocks hang between the trunks—the ultimate spot to read a book or listen to the wind rustling through the leaves.
  • Historic Lounge Area: Next to the house, you will find a cozy lounge area sheltered under a walnut tree. This terrace is built on the historic foundations where a third wine house once stood. An idyllic spot to unwind in the evening with a fine glass of local wine.

Historic Charm Meets Modern Design

Originally, this holiday home consisted of two authentic press houses where local wine was made. The property has been completely stripped and rebuilt with great eye for detail, seamlessly blending comfort and history:

  • Beautiful Living Space: The ground floor features a spacious open kitchen with a modern cooking island—ideal for preparing meals together.
  • Cozy and Cool Comfort: In the cooler months, the charming wood-burning stove downstairs provides cozy warmth. Thanks to its original function as a wine house, the ground floor naturally stays wonderfully cool during the summer.
  • Preserved History: The two original, underground wine cellars have been preserved and serve as a beautiful reminder of the property’s rich heritage.

Space and Luxury for Four Guests

Spanning two floors with excellent sanitary facilities, the house offers plenty of space:

  • First Floor: Here you will find two comfortable bedrooms, both equipped with air conditioning to ensure a perfect night’s sleep. Right next to them is a luxurious bathroom featuring a toilet, shower, and a relaxing bathtub.
  • Ground Floor: For added convenience, there is a second full bathroom downstairs with its own shower and toilet. Very practical after an active day outdoors!

A Paradise for Hikers, Cyclists, and Families

Directly from your private dirt road, you can cycle or hike straight into the hills. The region around the Mecsek Mountains is renowned for its challenging mountain bike trails and stunning hiking routes. After an active day, you can easily walk into the village to the famous gastro-cultural restaurant Trabert Hof for an authentic Swabian meal, or explore the culture in the nearby vibrant city of Pécs.

Meet the owners

We are together since we worked together on a festival in Budapest where we used to live being both active in the cultural scene. Next to arts and culture we discovered more passions we shared: old houses, renovating, restorating, cooking, gardening and redesigning houses. In Feked everything came together. The ‘old’ house in the centre of the pittoresque village we obtained in 2006. Being only a ruin on a bare piece of land we could start our project. Over the years we bought furniture, paintings and improved the house by maintaining the original atmosphere. After moving back we moved to New York for five years but we always cam home in summer. Holidays in Feked means cooking and eating together with our daughters, friends and family. Try to reshape a wilderness back into a garden; matain the orchard and the flower meadow behind the house. After more than 15 years we can harvest our own fruits and vegetables. Having our own chickens is the next dream on the calendar.

Though the house will never be totally finished we got close two years ago after making the house more sustainable with solar panels and finishing the barn into a summer kitchen/lounge area. So we were ready for the next project we named Preshaz. Just outside the village a bit higher than the rest of the houses we found two old houses where over centuries wine was produced by local farmers. The rest is history and the same story started all over again. We started with a historical house of which nobody can tells us how old it is. This time we decided to make the design less traditional and made an open space with lots of windows and patio doors to the garden with ancient walnut trees.
